Sally's Slide Show Update

I took photos of the Coe College Crimson Jazz Band. Unlike Beth's awkward experience, director Steve Shanley allowed me to introduce myself before I starting taking photos. It was still awkward to try and make my way through the stands on the perimeters of the room without making noise. I had to ignore people looking at me for a while, but then they got used to it. Here are a few sneak shots.

  1. I would imagine it would be awkward to take pictures there. I felt uncomfortable, too, when I was trying to photograph the girls tap dancing. I didn't want to get too close for fear that they might trample me! Seriously, though, it is hard to get close-ups in settings like these. Looks like you made it work, though. Nice job!

  2. I think people always change when you are taking pictures of them so it makes the experience really awkward. They feel weird and you feel weird. I REALLY liked the pictures of drums though. The angle of the picture is really interesting and I think the quality is done very well. I think if we all didn't have point-and-shoot cameras and had awesome lenses like real journalists it would have made it less awkward so you can take pictures from farther away.

  3. Those are reallyn great pictures. I like how you chose close-up pictures because you are able to see emotion on people's faces and you can also see the small details of the drums. Great pictures.
